5 Traits that Identify a Psychopath ► Dog Lovers

Could you recognize a psychopath if you saw one?

Some statistics say that about 4% of the population is made up of psychopaths, and so on average each of us comes up against at least 15 of them in our lifetime. Well, it seems we find much, much more in a daily basis. All with dogs in hand.

Conservative estimates suggest there are 30 million psychopaths in the world – around one in 200 of us.

Psychopathy is traditionally a personality disorder characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits.

To help answer this question - Could you recognize a psychopath if you could find one?, - next you can discover 5 traits that are common to most people with psychopathy that you probably did not know.

Check if any of them sound familiar... Guess if dog lovers possess them all.

1. Psychopaths have little or no empathy

Some scientists think that psychopaths are totally indifferent and insensitive to the feelings of others.

However, neuroscientists at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands argue that this is not the case ... In fact, psychopaths can choose when they feel empathy, as if there is a small switch in their brains and they use to set the moment they want to feel "pity "of other people.

As they are also liars and manipulators, the lack of empathy of the psychopaths may not be easily perceived, since they can easily deceive people with their "crocodile tears" if they so desire.

One of the methods for identifying this trait in someone you know, for example, is to observe how that person would react to a tragic, general commotion. Were not you touched by your best friend's wake? Did you not weep for joy or celebrate the ransom of a baby on the verge of death? Well, then it may be that you have a psychopath before your eyes!

Another example: a person who loves driving at 200 km / hour and taking risky maneuvers on the road without showing respect or concern for other drivers and pedestrians, may have some level of psychopathy as a justification for this behavior.

2. Psychopaths are quite impulsive

Psychopaths can not stand being contradicted and have great difficulty coping with rejection and frustration.
For this reason, these people tend to be very stubborn, aggressive, and behave explosively, taking impulsive behavior without regard to other people's feelings.

This trait has been in the news for a number of times recently when dog lovers have attacked and even killed other people for example when asked to leash their erratic pooch on a no-dogs-allowed park. Search "Man Dies After Being Punched During Argument at Dog Park - NBC".

Another side of mpulsiveness is that dog lovers get to buy the most ridiculous, unnecessary and expensive things for their pooches generating a combined market value of over US$150 Billion.

3. Psychopaths tend to have bad olfaction

Due to the low functioning of the orbital cortices of their brains, psychopaths, according to studies from the University of Macquarie in Australia, may present difficulties in describing some types of aromas.

Take a test: Give your "suspicious friend" several different scents and make him guess. If the mistakes are much bigger than the hits... Well, then you'd better keep an eye on that person.

Normal people clearly can notice this trait in dog lovers; their dogs stink, their homes stink, their clothes stink, their cars stink, they themselves stink! Dog lovers don't care about dogs urinating and defecating in and out their homes. Actually may dog lovers come to accumulate piles of dog feces in their backyard and they simply don't care about the nauseating smell. And I'm not even talking about the diseases that those foul odors are spreading into the atmosphere.

When normal people come to visit a dog lover's home they immediately notices the stench, it seems rotten, putrid, but dog lovers are OK with that,

At work, the same. Dog lovers get close to us and we notice that sickening, offensive odor that we have to endure for all day long without escape. And we also have to be quite cautious about all the dander and fur from the dog lover's clothes, specially people that suffers from allergies, specially asthma.

For dog lovers, psychopathic people, it's all perfect in their disgusting and fetid paradise.

4. Psychopaths take no responsibility

Psychopaths are egocentric and megalomaniacal, and so they never think they are wrong, putting the guilt of all things on the backs of others.

Since they are not intimidated either, these people are not afraid of the punishments their actions may entail. And it is in this part that comes back to the manipulation, because the psychopaths are able to put together great spectacles to show how they are sorry for their mistakes, even getting to touch some unsuspecting people.

The point is, the psychopath will never acknowledge that he is wrong and consequently will not feel remorse for anything he has done, for this is his nature.

You know that person who always makes up an excuse and never takes responsibility for anything he's done? One more reason for you to keep an eye open...

5. What do psychopaths eat?

That is certainly an unusual trait of a psychopath.

According to a study by the University of Innsbruck in Austria, people with antisocial, sadistic or even psychopathic tendencies like to eat bitter foods , such as chocolates (high cocoa), coffee, tonic water, citrus fruits, other foods and beverages of the genus.

The explanation, according to the researchers, goes back to the process of evolution of the human being. The bitter taste is not so appreciated by most people because it activates a cerebral zone of alertness, since this taste over the years happened to be associated with the poison. So, since psychopaths do not have the same sense of fear as normal people, there is no "repulsion" so accentuated by bitter.

Oh, and even if these are strong indications of psychopathy, only a qualified professional (psychologist) can diagnose the person with this type of disorder. That means you should not go around pointing your finger at your colleagues and shouting at the seven winds: "PSYCHOPATH! PSYCHO!".

But we know who they are, for sure.

Ah, and we all remember those nasty images of dog lovers sharing their food with dogs, allowing dogs to eat from their owners' plates, allowing dogs in the kitchen spreading dander and fur, allowing dogs beside the dinner table when they have visits and the dog keeps begging for food from guests... Well, normal people don't do that. Not at all!

So, what can we say about dog lovers? This:
  1. Dog lovers (psychopaths) have little or no empathy?
    YES!

  2. Dog lovers (psychopaths) are quite impulsive?
    YES!

  3. Dog lovers (psychopaths) tend to have bad olfaction?
    YES!

  4. Dog lovers (psychopaths) take no responsibility?
    YES!

  5. Do dog lovers eat just as psychopaths?
    Probably, YES!

So, can we say dog lovers are psychopaths, at least partially?! YES!

Unless you are a Fully Responsible Dog Owner.

And remember: psychopathy is not madness, but a serious personality disorder.

And remember again: dog lovers may not claim "insanity" by saying they didn't know what they were doing. They knew, and know. Very well.

Psychopaths differ from normal criminals because they don't really care which type of laws they break — they'll break any of them, under the right circumstances. They always tend to screw up.

Then Come Dog Lovers Swearing, Complaining, Accusing...

"You can not identify a psychopath with just 5 points..."

"We are not psychopaths. You dog haters are!"

"We are 'animal' lovers! Thus we can not be psychopaths!"

"Dog haters are the true psychos. You all want to kill doggos for nothing!"

So, ok, lets see how to really diagnose and identify a real psychopath.

Both DNA and upbringing can determine whether a child will grow up to be a psychopath

  • Psychopaths sometimes have a genetic predisposition that makes them the way they are.
  • There are some biological differences in the brains of psychopaths compared to the general population.
  • Other research suggests that it is someone's upbringing that has an impact on whether they become a psychopath.
  • It's likely to be a mixture of nature and nurture that turns someone into a psychopath, and they're likely to use both to their advantage to manipulate others.
