How Many Dogs Are There In The World and USA - 2018/2019?

US and Worldwide Dog Ownership Statistics - 2018/2019

Number of dogs in the United States 2018/2019

Here you can find the most current number of dogs in the USA, and in the world, below.

Important to mention is that it seems there is no credible organizations, governmental or private, that keep providing accurate - and specially current -- statistics these days. The best that could be found was data from previous years so they were here updated, by approximation,

One of the reasons for that lack of precise data may be due to the alarming and growing number of dog  bites, attacks, mutilations and deaths. Dog barking must be a significant factor as well. Deaths caused by dogs are kept current by DogsBite.org

Number of dogs in the US 2018/2019 registered as pets, according to Statista.com:

Year 2000 <-> 68 million dogs
Year 2017 <-> 90 million dogs
Then
Year 2018 <-> over 90 million dogs in the USA

      Over 90 million dogs in 2018 in the USA alone!

More than 42.5 million households in the US have ownership of either one or more dogs, one out of every three households.The population of pet dogs in Canada is estimated to be over 6 million.

      One out of every three households in the US have one or more dogs.

That means that there are more people who do Not have than the ones who do.

Number of dogs in the World 2018/2019

Number of dogs in the world:
(2012) - 525 million
(2018) - 900 million

     Unbelievable, almost ONE BILLION dogs in the World!

An increase of over 70% in just 6 years!!!!!!

These stats include both domesticated and free-range dogs. Free-range dogs are those that are not contained. They can be stray dogs, federal dogs, wild dogs, street dogs and village dogs. Stray dogs are differentiated from feral dogs in that they were socialized before becoming free-ranging, whereas feral dogs are raised without human socialization. The WHO estimates the total number of stray dogs to be about 200 million, and the total population of free-range dogs to make up about 75-85% of the global dog population.

World dog Population(?) 2018 - Dog Population(?) in the USA/World 2019

Well, this categorization is quite improper. As well as misleading, too.

The word "Population" refers to "people", and people only. Would you say "The World Snake Population 2019 is nnn million"?

No? So, please, let's save Humane words for humans, and humans only.

Humanity appreciates.
