How Many dogs Die Daily in 2019 in the US?
Close to 8 million unwanted animals are discarded into kennels in the USA every year, and increasing year after year. Of those, close to 4 million are dogs. Each year, approximately 1.2 million dogs are euthanized in shelters, actually kennels. Reasons are because they are mostly overly sick, diseased or overly aggressive.
This amounts to close to 3,300 dogs die everyday in the US (over three thousand dogs)
We could also say, informally, that for 3 bites on people one dog dies every day.
But there is more:
- An unknown number of dogs are also euthanized in veterinarian clinics.
- An unknown number of free-range and stray dogs are killed by wild animals.
- An unknown number of free-range and stray dogs, mostly, die because of their own diseases.
- An unknown number of free-range and stray dogs, mostly, die because of them causing traffic accidents.
- An unknown number of dangerous dogs are shot and killed by Police, probably in a daily basis (if you have currents statistics, please let me know).
- An unknown number of aggressive, dangerous, menacing, at large, obnoxiously loud, and similar dogs are routinely killed or fatally poisoned by covert, unknown people directly or indirectly, always negatively, affected by those same dogs.
So, as a reasonable guesstimate, this number could be close to 4,000.
Four thousand dogs die everyday in 2018 in the US, and Not by natural causes.
Finally, is that a decent thing to do, having a dog, specially when we factor in the extremely high number of dogs that exist in the US and in the World? To get things even worse, with all the extreme damage, waste and discord they cause?Answer is clear for the ones who can see.
